Should You Be Running Facebook Ads? Honest Answer Inside.
"Everyone says I need to be on Facebook." Sound familiar?
Here's the honest answer: Facebook ads CAN work for contractors. But they're not the first thing you should focus on.
Google Ads vs. Facebook Ads
**Google Ads:** People are actively searching for your service. High intent.
**Facebook Ads:** People are scrolling, not searching. Low intent.
For most contractors, Google Ads should come first. You're catching people when they need you.
When Facebook Ads Make Sense
- **You've maxed out Google:** You're already getting all the leads Google can give you
- **Maintenance plans:** Selling ongoing services to existing customers
- **Seasonal promotions:** AC tune-ups in spring, heating checks in fall
- **Brand building:** Staying top-of-mind in your area
- **Recruiting:** Finding new technicians
When to Skip Facebook Ads
- You're just starting out
- Your budget is under $1,500/month
- You don't have a good offer
- You can't handle more leads right now
If You Do Run Facebook Ads
- Target homeowners in your service area
- Use video when possible
- Have a specific offer (not "Call us!")
- Retarget website visitors
- Budget at least $30-50/day
The bottom line: Get your Google presence locked in first, then add Facebook as a growth lever.
